Re: ******OFFICIAL****** great places to eat in the 757
FAIL!!!!
That place will never get my business again (Newport News)
1st problem... Waited 40 minutes to be seated and when We were, it was a booth. I go to sit down and slide in and under the cushion is FLOOODED! I flop down and WHOOSH, I'm soaked from the waist down. It came out from under the front cushion getting me from the knees down, and out the back getting me from the Ass down. All they did was say sorry bout that, let me clean out the booth for you. I'm like WTF!?!?! I'm standing here looking like a retard with a severe bladder problem and they offer nothing. I even told the manager and they did nothing. How about paying the dry cleaning on the wool suit pants????
2nd problem, 2nd trip. Food was just plain terrible and not much of it. I order Ravioli and a side salad. The pasta looked to be a kids meal, it didn't even begin to cover the plate and the salad was brown and WARM! Oh, and the 4-5 Ravs on the plate were cold and chewy. Sent it back and it came out HOT and brick hard. Fuck I'm done, I got up and left...
Now if you are in Williamsburg, I recommend the Corner Pocket. Great Pool Hall/Resturant/Bar. Classy place, live music on the weekends, cheap cocktails, OUTSTANDING food!

+1
Fusion in olde town ptown
Fellini's in Norfolk
Hot Tuna VB
PF Changs VB
To me it all depends on what you want though... if you just want a burger, there's places that do that exceptionally well. Some places only really do one thing well and the rest is filler for the menu. Wherever you go, get the specialty of that place... you want seafood, go to a seafood restaurant... you want steak, go to a steakhouse... etc The only exceptions I've found to this are the high end/swanky places...
edit:
and Ruth Chris can kiss my ass... that was a miserable failure of a flavorless $40 steak!

Famous Uncle Al's and Perfectly Frank are good places to get some lunch that won't hurt the wallet too much. Al still works at the one on Shore Dr. (last I heard) and the ones in Greenbrier and ODU are owned by a friend of mine.
