Question 2001 S2000

Any input and help is greatly appreciated.

2001 S2000

Problem.... upon slowing to a stop whether I rev match or just push in clutch or if im sitting at idle and push in the clutch and rev the motor the revs will then continue to drop below idle and stall the car...the same with coming to a stop...clutch in..revs will drop below idle and stall.

I've read on forumns that it could be MAP sensor or IAC valve...havnt looked into wider yet as iam at work.

Is anyone familiar with this????

Any HONDA techs wanna make some side money??

Honda wouldn't let me speak with a tech on the phone...and I really don't have the money to pay tthem to troubleshoot it.

Thanks

My experience on Nissans would usually tell me to look at the IACV. I don't have much experience with MAP setups, but I've rarely seen a MAF cause a stutter stall like that. Usually it's something that's choking the engine out (ie, atmo BOV, clogged IACV, etc). IACVs usually aren't terrible to clean out, it just depends on how much of a bitch Honda made it to get to the fucker. Once it's out, attack it with some carb cleaner and slap a new gasket on.

Yea S2KI.com is a big help. Pretty much narrows it down to either the MAP sensor or IACV being bad and/or just gunked up.

I took the IACV off and cleaned real well with and after putting back on...nothing better...guess I may need a new one. Cheapest I can find is $130 for a Denso part.

Thanks for the replies.

thats wierd, when i boosted my old car it started to do the exact same thing.
I cleaned my iacv and it didnt help much either, adjusted idle and still did it. but then i got it tuned and it stopped altogether.
maybe that would help? any mods?

Its bone stock. I've only had the car for 3 weeks (tell me about it). The car has 70k miles with all dealer maintenance. Just started doing this out of nowhere....Im going to rule it out as the IACV and order one online..save me $50.00.

O yeah and its total BS that you cant speak with a HONDA tech on the phone...just the advisors who tell me they've got no record of that kind of problem when it seems to be one of the most common occurrences on s2ki ...just bring it in for a diagnostic...NO

I'm new to import world..learning..

Yea, its annoying as hell though aint it, everytime you stop you have to feather the throttle down so it dont stall out. haha.. i was glad when it was fixed. also if its a bad iacv then alot of times it will pulsate while idling. like mine was from 750k to 1000k and back and forth.

Yea i read about that, but mine doesn't fluctuate but maybe 100 -200 rpm..clutch out in neutral.

I hope it is the IACV...dont know how the clutch would cause this...guess we'll find out.
