your right the 283-400 is a small block. i had a grammar fuck up and left a comma out. i meant keep the 400 ci small block or go with a big block. had a 406 ci chevy big block in my 67 camaro ss and it was a beast once i rebuilt the motor. there are definately minus's with both.

i am still leaning more to stroking (hehe) the 400 small block and blowing (hehe) it or big turbo.

i like the efi options especially for tune-ability with a laptop etc. especially with using big air compressors to power it. if i go that route an LS swap would be perfect and i rewired the truck for my dad a year ago with a painless wiring set so it has outputs for the efi set up built in. just need the ecu and wiring harness.

I don't even know if I'd worry about a six speed. There's nothing wrong with the T5.
T5? You're thinking of a ford. LS powered Chevrolets came with aT56 6 speed tremec tranny, Ora variation of the 4L6/8E

I'm about 100% sure you could get the T5 in Chevy vehicles with the LT1 back in the day, and that there is also a Ford variant to the T56. The T5 should bolt up to an LS series.

Mustang manual trans are also t56s brah. Just 5 speed models.

If I were Donny I wouldn't even fuck with a 6 speed t56 unless he were putting a retardshorthonda gear in it

You would just need to appropriate bell housing iirc

This.

And I'm not getting a T56 at all. The bell housing doesn't clear my transmission tunnel without significant modification. I'm using an adapter plate with a skyline clutch and custom flywheel. No need to change the stock tranny. They're a skyline transmission with a different housing and they also hold up to 900 horse Z builds. But enough about that. I want moar pics of this truck.
