agh, i feel like any chance for it just got botched over night. Was counting on it hitting low 20's, instead its mid 30's and raining. We will see i guess.

even as an experienced skater (been skating for almost 20 years now) i still wear my skates almost as dull as a goalie. i sacrifice a little on acceleration but i get a lot of maneuverability.
dull blades slide a lot easier on the ice, as opposed to sharp skates cut into the ice and bite hard causing you to stop alot quicker.
I agree that dull skates may be beneficial when learning to stop as they are more forgiving, but the decreased coefficient of friction wastes energy in the stride and are quite inefficient comparatively. While everyone has weird preferences in any facet, dull skates are not a good idea otherwise.
and I actually wear my goalie skates sharper than forward skates. 1/4" hollow, 27' radius with forward lean.
edit: and I'm down to play whenever as long as it's decent hockey. already in a league at chilled ponds but I'm not sure if they're doing a spring one. I'm not sure I'll have room to bring my goalie gear down, but my forward gear is already in VA

Also; who in the area sharpens skates well? I wanted to bring my skates home to get them done but I flew and couldn't bring them on the plane.
I don't want anyone to flatten out my radius.

I'd also be down to volunteer coaching a kids team. I don't know how many youth hockey leagues there are around here but that's always been something I wanted to do.
