Neighbor's 97 Civic EX wouldn't start. To be honest, that's way too new for me. It sounds like no spark, and I pulled a spark plug wire (I was looking for a coil-to-distributor wire, but naturally didn't find one lol), and it didn't arc. If any of you guys do work on the side, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him.

Oh, and why work on the side - not to rip off a shop, but because I'm pretty sure he needs it done tomorrow, when every shop is closed.

Really? WTF man. It's labor day. Was there something I needed to do at your shop that I couldn't get done during normal business hours because of my work? I forget. Anyways, I'll give him your info, but I have no idea how he'll get the car to you.

Oh. Good. Scratch that. I don't know what I was thinking. For the few days every few months when the Benz is out of commission, it will be a lot cheaper for me to just rent a car. Project Beater Benz/Bimmer is over.

You still hooked up with a towing company?

No spark is probably the ICM inside of the distributor being bad.

You did ground the wire to something metal like the valve cover correct?

Yep. I know things about cars if they existed before OBD (like grounding the wire to something metal to check for an arc), but anything post-OBD or with electronic injection is totally beyond the scope of my knowledge/interest.
