Any Reason Planes have been flying overhead all morning?
Jets and that RADAR plane have been flying around unusually much. Pretty annoying.
Anyone else intrigued by this?

They have been flying around a ton for awhile now... My assumption would be making sure all qualifications / re-certifications are taken care of before a deployment.

there was a CO or an ACE two days ago, myself, jay, my pops, and a few others were watching him kill it, putting the plane in stalls, and a bunch of sweet barrell rolls and stuff. it was real dope.
but yeah they are prepping for deployment.

I'm a controller over there, the reason its so noisy today is because they are using runway 14, which we barely use, hence more noise for people who aren't accustomed to it.

who isn't accustomed to the jet noise? i lived less than 5 mins from the back gate at oceana, and i barely noticed them....

I call bs on that one. I lived close by also and while I KIND of got use to them, but good luck trying to watch a tv show or talk on the phone while they are around.

I used to live on a naval air base and the jet noise you sort of filter out; but if I'm liek focusing on a show/game/hw it'll really get to me sometimes. Especially since my housing tower was literally less than a quarter mile away.

I think I know the reason. You live in Hampton Roads. They have been flying over constantly since I woke up at 830. Well, every 5 minutes or so, but still. (LAFB)
