Getting a rate at the Oceanfront in summer is tough unless you want a shithole. Don't be afraid to check out the Westin or Hilton Garden Inn in Town Center. Both nice hotels, and if you call their in-house reservations you may get a better rate than is advertised. Both those hotels are like 10 minutes (all highway) from the oceanfront and have free parking and good food/bars within walking distance.
