every saturday my friend has 'fight night'. a bunch of people come. theres a wrestling mat bags yea well anyway you can wrestle, box, kick box, or mma. mouth guards required. admission is 2 bucks.
ill throw up some videos later of me and the owner.. damn good fight..

yes to ref yes to rules
rules are
no biting
no nut shots
once your off the mat you break (and if your doing mma, you start off as the exact same way you left off.)
no pokin in eyes.
the usual common courtesy rules.
anthing else goes...slamming body shot face shots pinning.
and you can also talk to your opponent and ask them what they wanna do to...say your scared of face shots. you know. just w/e

I'd personally stay away from LINXX. Frank is a business man first and a martial artist 2nd. Anything you do there you are going to pay an arm and a leg and get locked into a contract.
It's about 170 a month there just for Jiu-Jitsu and you're locked into a contract as opposed to Gustavo's which is 150 a month and he does month to month.
Would you want to pay 150 a month to train with a brazilian who grew up with the gracies, or 170 a month and be locked into a contract and get taught by his students?
Hybrid is good, they're about 190 a month for Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, CSW, and Muay Thai.
You can check out Mateo's school, which is Global Martial Arts.
(I'm not biased, I tried out all of the schools but none of them really suited me or gave me what I was looking for.)
All of these are in Virginia Beach.
The best advice I can give however is to stay away from schools that advertise mixed martial arts and to focus on one art for a decent amount of time before you cross-train. Fedor, Shinya, BJ Penn, Couture, Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and most of the top MMA fighters spent a long time in one art and trained in others to compliment their styles. A lot of the grapplers learned to strike to take their oppenents to the ground and a lot of the standup guys learned grappling to avoid going to the ground.
