Did you re-enlist? Or did you make 2nd off of your like 2nd or 3rd test and make 1st off of your first time taking it? I have 1 yr 11 months left...

Except I was a 3rd class for over 3 years (advancement in my rate is super shitty from 3rd to 2nd b/c 80% of us re-enlist to get a free advancement to E5, making it nearly impossible to make it off the test)

I would def agree with you on VFA 106 and VAW 120, but VRC 40 and HM 14 have sea detactments and are bangin units to deploy with. In fact...my time in VRC 40 mostly paid for everything I've done to my CRX and was about the best command I had ever been in.
On the flip side...my last tour in the navy was in VAW 120 and they do not create words to discribe the HELL that I went through! Sadly, VFA 106 is worst!!!

I am not happy with todays Navy and their fuckin "Corporate Navy". Eval system, leadership (or lack of it...is more the word), constantly deployed and now how college is being played into advancment.
I made things happen. Ran workcenters and Dets, Nose to the grind stone so to speak. Ten hour days to most is nothing...but while on shore duty?!? When in the hell did I have time to do college! But yet I watched retards who didn't know they own rate and who usually was shit canned to training, safety or some other 9-5 desk job get all their NKO and college courses because that's all they did!
WTF!
Look at most chiefs today. Would you call them experts in their rate? Would you call them a good leader?
That's not what todays navy is about.

Yea, I made FC2 back around 1992. I got out in '95.

The only thing I regret about getting out is not going to college full-time. It took me something like 7 yrs to get my engineering degree due to going at night for several years. Don't be tempted by decent paying jobs you can get right out of the navy.
