Dude I seriously wanted to start getting into it but I became a member of dropzone.com and then I started checking out all of the people that died in the blue skies threads and I said fuck that shit. Motherfuckers over there getting waxed left and right. I have a 6 year old lil girl that relies on me coming home every day

I just read a bunch of those and I believe that's more of a nationwide "Blue Skies" section though. People that have died all over the country. Skydiving is as safe as its going to get really. That does sound ironic and all but accidents do happen so eventually someone is going to get hurt or killed enjoying the sport.

Really there inst a whole lot difference in any other extreme sport if you think about it. There is always risk.

Ya I saw that.

You know my actual first jump I did I ran off the top of my best friends parachute. The guy below you always has the right away but at the instance the way we came out of the bird there wasn't a whole lot I could do about it. My chute damn near collapsed had I not gotten over the edge of his fast enough. He remembers feeling me tread across his chute too. That was intense, I wont lie it scared the shit out of me but it didn't stop me from finishing the school.

Before my class went thew another soldiers chute somehow failed about 75ft on his second jump. he lived, broke his leg pretty bad but he stayed the course too. We used to laugh about it talking about how he had 2 jumps and 3 landings, ya he bounced when he hit the ground.

Also on my graduation day I witnessed two of the guys in my class get tied up midair maybe 400ft up, they never were able to swim out of each others risers and one guy broke and ankle.

Moral of the story accidents happen but that's what the trainings for. Plus civilian jumps IMO are much safer, less people and better parachutes. You can steer a T10C but not like a civilian chute.
