There are a shit ton of new apartments going up in Va Beach. If you take Princess Anne going away from the municipal center, turn right on S. Plaza. That whole street is new construction apartments. They're really nice on the inside, but im not sure on pricing. You should go inquire and post up their price ranges.

Utilities depend on you. My first gas bill at the house was over $200. Then the thermostat got turned way down and now it averages $50-$75. Electricity bill averages $50, but me and my girl both work during the day so not much is used. Cable is the real bitch, $130 for cable, modem, phone. Check into places where you don't have to pay for water either, that'll save you some money.

And whatever you do, don't be one of these idiots on TV that loses everything in a fire and doesn't have renter's insurance. One of the cheapest things you can get and well worth it. Last time I had to get it, I paid less than $100 for $20,000 in coverage.

Yeah thats right down the road from my house, those apartments are all 1000+ sq. ft. and are going to be crazy expensive. And as for the apartment guides they don't show you the average amount of utilities which is what I was looking for.

If you have a complex your interested in or know the actual address of the apartment you need the info for you can actually call VA Power and ask them what the average has been over the past 6-12 months. Also you can ask anyone at the apartment management office as they normally have at least 1-2 people in the office that live on site and can give you a good idea what the 'normal' person is paying for utilities...

good luck! the first apt/house is always the best!
