I was born and grew up in Va Beach and I've always wanted to own a place on the ocean. However, dealing with the HRBT can be a pain so I'm trying to find a place as close as possible to VB north of the bridge unless I find some awesome place on Shore Drive or on the boardwalk.

I've also been looking at places on the north end of Ocean View but I'd like to stay north of the HRBT, that's why I'm looking at Hampton and NN and to a lesser extent, Yorktown.
Well to be honest, if you are looking to raise kids live in Williamsburg the WJCC public schools are pretty decent for what they are. Depending on your age there is a lot Williamsburg has to offer. (mostly older crowd, but still has a lot of bars and restaurants).

If you want populated a 20 minute drive is nothing. I grew up in Williamsburg and I'm in college, but when I come in for summer / winter I have plenty to keep me busy.

So wait, if you work in Williamsburg, whats wrong with living there? Figured the only other good area of Newport would be north side, close to Fort Eustis. I've met a couple of cops who live out that way, figured theres a reason why they live out that way.

Nothing wrong with living there, it's quite nice, I just want to be closer to the ocean.

I own a house (that's for sale too) in Carleton Falls (Lee Hall) which is the last neighborhood on Rt.60 heading to W'burg. It's a great neighborhood.
