breaking an apartment lease?

breaking an apartment lease?
We're trying to buy a house in another state but first we're going to move in to the in laws place in order to save up a little bit more money before we make it official just because we can. Anyone have experience with breaking a lease? The lease is up in september. Is it usually a penalty or would we have to pay the remaining rent out on the lease anyway? Anyone know how it works? I know it's different for each apartment probably. Anyone have experience with this?

I know it sounds retarded but we can't find what folder it's in but it's around here somewhere lol is there a standard thing or does it vary wildly?

its 3 months...just stay there till your lease is up..its gong to be a lot of red tape to break it...and if you move out and dont pay they will take you to court for it...

Re: breaking an apartment lease?
my cousin just tried to do this with her place, she was living in the worst part of town, and had drive bys ... unless your lease says something about breaking it. your pretty much stuck with it. if your renting privately talk to the owner. if your renting an apt. you are pretty much stuck with it. sorry.
