as far as gasket replacement...it really depends on the mileage on motors...i dont care if i was getting a ca or all the way up to a rb26...id replace the gaskets...cuz ALL of the people importing motors imbelish there mileage quotes...u find me a ca18 or redtop w/ less that 65-80k kilo's on it and wasnt a drift car then ill be suprised...my ca when i was in japan had 79k on it and that was 5 years ago..and all my friends w/ rbs/srs/cas had the same mileage...i dont trust engine importers IF i was to do i swap id do a rebuild/refresh on whatever motor i got...that being said do ca's usually need a refresh as dan said YUP lol but so do alot of sr's and rb's...

Here is what a friend in Japan just emailed me today, I asked if he could source me a SR here is what he said... This goes to show that sometimes the 35k myth is BS..

SR20DET is OK to find but need to very very carefully since it is pretty much pepople who using for racing in Japan, sometimes engine itself were broken inside the pistons or non working, I need to take a time to look. I will let you know the best one if you are really needed. Price is all depends since it is used and sometimes lower than the price lange, shipping by ocean frieght is fine with me but for you to save the cost, I preffer buying engine together. Please concern these and e-mail me, thank you.

Peep the JDM engrish lol.
