You can rent and fire one, if they have it in stock, at Knob Creek, KY. This place is cool, you can rent all kinds of outrageous guns that you would never have the opportunity to shoot otherwise.

My dad shot a M82A1 in sniper school. From what I hear the recoil is similar to a 12 gauge, but the blowback is uncomfortable and feels like a punch to the face if you stand next to it while someone is shooting. Strong enough to shatter a windshield if fired from the hood of a car.
Oh, and $5 every time you pull the trigger keep in mind.

knob creek is the shit. i was out there every few weekends when i was stationed at knox. only place i know of in the civilian world that you can fire off a GE mini-gun
