Car stereo installation
I know this has been asked many times I am simply trying to figure out my options. I need a stereo pulled and/or new one put in and wired to speakers in an Exploder. What do people typically charge to put a cd player in an SUV of that size ?

Really should try and do it yourself buddy, its VERY easy, and I am sure there are "how-tos" out there to help you along.
Just did a friends 350 and was real easy.

if you go to discount auto sound they will sell you a converstion harness, where all you have to do is splice wire to wire, matching color to color. you might need a dash kit. 20 to 40 bucks for the kits, other 40-50 for the install, or you can do it yourself and save the labor charge.
if the suv came with the stock amps, it might be alittle different. but not hard.

Re: Car stereo installation
it really depends on the stock set up in this exploder . some have a external amps that is not on the stock headunit and you have to bypass it . so you need to find out if your exploder has one or not .if it does it usually under the pass side back quater panel of the suv where the cargo area is . if it does and you have nvr done one before jsut pay someone to do it probaly looking at 75-150 plus parts. if it doesnt have the external amp then all you need is a wire harness and match color to color . but both the exploders i have owned had a external amp . i did the install myself and it sucks . u basically have to pull out all your pass side panels to bypass the the stock amp. have fun and good luck

If for some odd reason I had to take it to a shop I would contact AAA Kustoms. His name I can not spell, but its pronounced An-twon. PM Me if you want his number. Dont know if its "legal" to post reccomendations like this. My aplogizes if it not ethical to post this. I got my eclipse double din from him for next to nothing.
