thats great, but they are not the only people out there who can chip ECU's and tune cars, so saying someone other then those 2 doing it is half ass is an ignorant ass statement

Your right... I bet 12 year old jimmy down the street can chip and tune your car too... That doesnt mean that they are any good... 99% of the poeple out there "tuning" make changes to a pre made map such as crome not knowing the true affests of what they are doing. A bad tune is the single easiest way to ruin a good motor. Why take the chance? Go to the best and the best anywhere arround here is Matt and Shawn.

Well I for one, have tuned alot of cars, including my own. I have socketed alot of Honda ECU's in my day, and I also have my Associates in Computer Electronics Engineering Technology.

I spared no expenses when I got into this, and got everything I would need, including an LC-1 wideband, moates.net burn2 burner, etc.

I really need to get an ostrich now, but I've got a dealer version of Crome, and an excess of necessary components for VTEC conversions, and socketing, including extra chips, which I load up with custom basemaps and sell as well.

and not to diss Shawn or anyone over there, but I went through hell trying to get an ECU chipped by them back in the day, they basically didn't have time for something like that.

I'm sure if you were boosted and had appropriate mods you'd get their attention though.

IDK what OP has done still, didn't sound like this was some 450WHP beast...

jimmy is 10 thank you very much, and i'm not saying Average Joe can chip and tune, but don't just throw out the big names because you want to look cool.

lol this thread makes me laugh, ever business has there clients they carter to you wouldn't take your civic to a Ferrari dealer to get worked on, just like i get 1000000 calls a day about getting ecus chipped with a base map so they can go race there friend tonight, or come backs with a base map wanting there vtec lowered or there 2 step set higher after a point i get tired of doing them to make pennies, you move on to bigger and better things, as it is now we wont chip an ecu unless there tuning with us on the dyno

and 83stang how do you tune crome with out an emulator? you make a pull try to see where a change needs to be made, burn the map put the chip in make another pull, pull the chip out burn it again put it back in ect ect? and said you spared no expense? come on man its crome i think if you made that comment you could have said you at least got a motec plm to tune with, just saying

Yeah, I said I don't have an ostrich, so obv I pull the chips. On my ECU I cut the corner of the cover so I can access the socket and leave the cover on, but I change how my car runs almost daily. When I got everything, I wasn't sure if the ostrich was really necessary, or just a convenience. Now I know.

If I spend an hours worth of time "tuning" someone's car, between making pulls, reading the datalogs, and adjusting the maps, how many time's am I really going to switch out the chip?

Not to mention, I rarely ever pull a chip, then reburn it right away, I have so many I burn a new one and just switch them to save time.

You just agreed with what I was saying anyways...I know how shit works, and if I was in your shoes, I'm sure things would be done quite similar.
