Getting a car title???
I'm about to buy this car but the guy has no title for it, I did a carfax on it and everything came up okay but now I want to figure out how much it would cost to get a title or if anyone knows of any good places let me know ASAP

get the owner to write a letter saying they void ownership,then sign it.take it to the dmv and thats it. pay your fees and you get a new title.

My father has done it several times. File a loss of title at tax office. An affidavit will be needed most likely from the owner or valid Bill of Sale. Texas is pretty easy...

I dont think its needed if you fill out the form saying you hold the previous owner not responsible for anything that happens with it.

I wasn't sure. Just wanted him to be aware of what he may need. Best advice is to call yourself and get the correct info. People do it every day, can't be too complicated.
