I know nothing...but heres what I'm getting out of this;
I have a 95, it's base from what you say, and 96 under all 3 editions had DOHC, then after that the base changed to a SOHC.
Mine is DOHC and has base exclusive features that didn't come with the SL,VR-4 : ), so it's 99.9% a base, ba bla balbalbla,
3SI meet???...please?

yea my boyfriend has a 94 base and his motor is DOHC. the SL is the same motor just with more features on the car...i'm thinking 97 is the year they changed base models to the SOHC motor cuz my boyfriend's mom has a 97 base and it's only SOHC. hope that helps you???

Hey guyz this is Eric (Red 3kgt base...but i have a 1991 vr-4 in progress). Anyways....well i just wanted to clear up some earlier posts. For Jay and Roy: I never get on these stupid forums i just felt like talking some mess cause you know that thats all these forums are...Bullshit talkin. I KNOW my 3000Gt's!!! Here goes:
1991-1996 base model has 222hp
1997-1999 base model has 160hp (NOT 180hp) believe me my mom has one ASK Roy...anyways
1991-1999 SL has 222hp
1991-1993 VR-4 has 300hp
1994-1999 VR-4 has 320hp
Jay why do you have 1997-1999 SL Wheels on your 1994 vr-4??? Thats kinda weird, but im not joking, just saying.
1994 vr-4 and the vr-4 spyders all have 17" chrome 5 spoke wheels.
Roy my base model has 222hp just so you know, your 227hp isnt much to brag about either but i'll give you credit on your driving skills you do have those. Anyways fellas i just wanted to make some clarifications no harm done. dont be pissed. just remember its just a stupid forum.

LOL, Roy you have such a big ego. Hahaha im glad at least i can make you happy. Without me i guess you wouldn't have anyone to brag about beating. Besides, the only times you beat me were when i had a slipping clutch and when i had bald tires so of course your awd would have traction while im peeling out...but its okay im just stating a point, not making excuses.
