well whomever said that earlier that a type-r is more expensive than a new wrx is a complete moron. u can get a 2001 itr for $19,000 average price, just look it up on autotrader.com. but i realized that i can find a better car for less money, so that is what i think i am going to do. the itr is a great car, don't get me wrong, but i don't really want to put out that much money, when i can get something that has a bit more unf, for less. average price for a '96 m3 is around $14,000. i think that is very reasonable. does anyone know the hp and statistics on a '96 m3? if so please share on here, or just pm me. i would like to thank everyone that posted in helping me decide on this issue, it really did bug me for a long time.

'96 M3
3.2 l 24v I-6
240hp 236ft/lbs. Tq at the crank
3175lb curb weight.
only problem is that there are luxury taxes up the yin yang, gas guzzler taxes, and the parts for it are really expesnsive. let alone getting the work done.
They're a beast of a car but just be prepared to pay for it.

the fact that it's a 1 owner job is very promising. you'd have to see the condition of the car. it's your money man, i'd get a carfax and check it out before spending that much money on a car. looks sweet thought. good luck. make sure it's been well kept or else it'll get real expensive real quick... also find a mechaninc to help you even if you plan on doing the work yourself. hendrick edition could be of great help on that one....
