Re: MERCEDES S500 ('04) - MODIFY???
def. by wed. or thurs. there was a minor dent that my dealer needs to pop out.
also... the navi. doesn't seem to be working .
-should I bring it to mercedes?
-are there other companies that can fix it for cheaper?
-is that usually under warranty?

As far as modding, I recommend wheels, tint, chip, and lowering module. Wald, Brabus, Carlsson, and Renntech are good places to start.

I'm agreeing with everyone else. Don't touch the engine. Just some tint and rims. What color is the car? Oh where are you getting the car? My grandpa is works at a Mercedes dealer.

I can't speak for the 2004's but if you get an aftermarket head unit you will lose all your radio controls on your steering wheel. MB used fiber optic cable for the conections so i guess that messed with hooking up new units.
Did you get a warrenty? I don't think the COMMAND navi will be covered....
You HAVE to take the car into the dealer... Any model from 1998 to today needs to go to the dealer. MB's are very complex and usually only dealers have the right equipment to fix it.
Good choice with the S500.... The 4.9L V8 is bullit proof... The bottom end of the engine has been used since the early 90's, and the top end is great with the 3 valves per cylinder.... It is not as good as having the 4 vlaves they used prior to 98, but it is reliable with good performance. Dpn't touch the engine. There really is nothing you can do other than a rentech superchanrger that will run you $6000+ per kit. Those engines were desined to be fast, reliable, ultra smooth and quiet.... Putting aftermarket air filter will only screw up you MAF.... Which is most MB's weak point.
For modiying the appearence.... be carful. The Germans build there cars so that everything looks perfect together when it comes off the line... Getting wierd rims will throw off the look.... IMO i like to make my cars more "german"... Lower them to Euro spec levels, put sporty wheels on, and remove all the chrome B.S.... Most chrome used is for the American market.

yo... i feel you on the "keepin' it clean". If anything, I would definitely invest in some Work Eurolines as pictured above. Get up with Joe Dizon (ultraspeed)... he definitely knows ppl that can get ahold on a set of those and fitted to your car. No body kit, a lip deal at most. Some decent tint but not too much. Do steer away from chromed out wheels. There are enough brothas and wiggas in the area that are sporting the S500's with limo tint and chromies.... If you can't get ahold of Joe Dizon (Ultra VIP sn on VaDriven) then just get up at me and I'll make some calls to get you some price quotes. Do keep in mind, that those Work Eurolines are gonna run you at least 3g's for rims alone.
