Default In need of a butcher/meat slicer

Alright, I just recently brought a 6lb deli "block" of lunch meat from a recent trip to PA... I didn't get it sliced because I got it frozen to ensure it would make the trip back without spoiling. Well, the place I would normally go to closed it doors due to economy I would assume. Though, that leaves me with a 6lb block of unsliced meat, not helpful considering it's a lunch meat.

Those wanting to know what it is, it's Kunzler's Sweet Lebanon Bologna, much like the crap Seltzer's that is available in the area, only much better in taste, imo of course.

So, does anyone know of a butcher in Virginia Beach (preferably mom/pop type) that will slice up provided for meat? Closer to Pembroke Mall area (to give a big landmark) the better. Please let me know of some leads or guaranteed places. Prefer that you know the name so that I can call and verify they'll do it before I go carrying around a 6lb block of meat around with me all over Va Beach.

Appreciated.

Call some grocery stores. Just ask politely.

That's been attempted. I'm hoping someone knows of a specific butcher that will assist me in this. Emphasis on specific.

If you're in VB, I believe there is still a butcher in the Hilltop Shopping center right next to Blue Ridge Mountain Sports.

He used to, but, was sued by a customer that had gotten sick.. turned out that the meat came bad from the manufacturer, but the damage was done. The sue happy customer fucked it up for everyone else, as the butchers insurance company had already told him that he can "only slice/cut what he has for sale" otherwise they would drop coverage.

As if the "events of 9/11" didn't already narrow down choices.. yeah. Appreciate looking out though, but he isn't an option anymore.

ask the butcher to buy the meat from you and then mark it up for what he would charge to slice it and then just buy it back

Of the ones that I contacted they informed me they would not even touch meat from an "outside source", "that you bring in", "that you dont buy from here", etc.

I haven't given up, though it may be more efficient to see if someone has a recommendation based on experience.

I would rent a slicer from somewhere, or contact central meat packing on kempsville road.
