Need some help from anyone that lives on Langley AFB
Hello guys (and gals). Recently bought a truck off of a guy that lives on base. Met him at bass pro shop, test drove it, everything checked out yadda yadda. Met him 2 days later with the cash. He said he had to deposit the money to get the title from the bank. Gave me the truck and a bill of sale. No big deal I can wait a few days, I've had to do the same thing with people before myself. Well I bought the truck on 12/19. Its now about to be a month. I called him the week after and he said he put the title in the mail. That gives it a week MAX from hampton to here. I have no title still. I cant show up at the guys house because he lives on base. Can anyone ride by this guys address for me and let me know if hes still there or what might be going on?? Id also like to know what I can do about finding out who his commanding officer is and how i would contact them. All i have is a name, address, and phone number.
Matthew Johnson
1569 B 4th street
Hampton VA 23665

When I bought it I checked ID's and talked to his wife and did all the normal crap to make sure I wasn't getting scammed. I call the house and just get the family answering machine that i have blown up the past 2 days.
Any suggestions?

Most banks don't keep the title at a local location. It may have to be mailed from a out of state location. But, even then, it shouldn't take a month.
When I sold my Integra, I had a loan through LFCU, and it took about 3 weeks for the new owner to get the title mailed to him.

I don't believe that address is on the actual AFB, so you could actually stop by and talk to the guy...
