Random Task: I'm not done with school yet. I goto ODU. I went to a job fair a few months ago, and i realized if i dont put my GPA down, the first thing they do is ask what it is lol.
And ya, im not suprised they dont look for 4.0 students. When I talked to Locheed Martin reps, they said GPA was simply just a number and hardly mattered. NG seemed to be a little more anal about the GPA to me.
Blah: ya, i have had some real work exp. I've ran a drafting dept at a company for a year.
what the hell is a designer? I was under the impression a desginer was a design engineer that sat in a room crunching differential equations all day long..?

extensive previous experience, and/or The Apprentice School.
The "A" school is your best bet. i dropped out, b/c i couldnt stand my bosses, and the people that were in my gang, they wouldnt rotate me to another gang, so i said fuck it.
i was there for 1 year, and 5 months, and i will never go back.

NGNN is known for bitching to the DoD because we (NNSY) steal their good employees. Years back, we were not even allowed to hire anyone from NGNN

Actually, if you have REAL work experience, no one really gives a fuck what your GPA is. What really matters in the real world is your education and experience.

Im a designer there. Engineers crunch the numbers, then us designers create a three-dimensional model on the computer of whatever part of the ship/sub your working on. Then we use that to create the 2D drawing that goes down to the yard and then the workers use that to help build it. The benefits are pretty good. However the pay is probably the lowest compared to other design companies from what I've heard. If thats what your aiming for, look elsewhere.

I have 2 jobs I just turned my resume in for down in Houston, both of which pay more than double of what I make now. On top of that... the housing market is almost the best bang for your buck in the US down there.
