The difference between the new SR20VE and the SR20VET is that the VET has no variable lift on the exhaust cam and the VE has variable lift on both the exhaust and intake cams. The new VE lacks independent variable lift of the cams. They are either both on low lift or both on high lift. The old generation VE (mine) had independent control of variable lift on both cams and the sequence was as follows: Both cams were on low lift from 0 rpm to about 6000 rpm where the intake cam would go to high lift and the exhaust cam would stay at low lift followed at about 6500 rpm where the exhaust cam would join the intake cam in higher lift. JWT tuned my motor so that both solenoids bring both the exhaust and intake cam to high lift at the same time effectively doing what N did with the new SR20VE.
