Default SOS Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention Sept. 11 Mount Trashmroe

This is a walk I did last year and will be doing it again this year. I am again asking for some faces from VADriven to come out. You don't have to help, donate or help raise money. Much of the goal is promote positive mental health along with physical health. You can register now or there for free, though it's much easier and quicker to do it online prior to the event. Again, it doesn't cost anything, just a Saturday morning of your time.

"Your involvement is important in accomplishing these goals. Of course you can participate by walking one of the three different trails at Mt. Trashmore. And / or, you are also encouraged to participate in the other many activities that we have planned: Our Program of Remembrance, Celebration, and Hope; complimentary refreshments; the availability of Mental Health Professionals and Information; Children’s Activity Table; Memory Wall; Crane-Making Table; Frisbee Art; and After-Walk Picnic with a live band and the drawing of the Crane Peace Quilt as a gift.
Although we believe in the positive impact of AFSP in its efforts to prevent suicide, we want you to feel equally free to raise or not to raise money. If you choose to collect donations, you can do this by having people sponsor your walking or by adding your own personal donation or that of friends, working associates, businesses, or corporations. Any money raised is put to good use as 84 cents to the dollar goes to suicide prevention through research, education & treatment programs. Donations for the 2009 Walk began January 1st. (for more information about donations - click here). Collections for donations for the 2009 Walk conclude December 31, 2009. Donations toward the 2010 Walk begin January 1, 2010. Whether you are involved in walking; event activities; or raising donations, you can do this either individually or as a “group” which might consist of a family, work associates, or individuals with shared interests and concerns, etc. At the 2008 Walk there were a number of youth groups from schools or churches who came - in fact one church brought their members in a bus. You can give your group a name. Please know, you are very welcome regardless of how you may participate."

fuck that noise, and lulz @ your avatar while promoting suicide prevention.

i'm all for helping with the positive mental health crap for someone going through a temporary rough time, but if someone wants to off themself and not take anyone else with them, i'm not going to stop them. especially those with terminal diseases or criminal life sentences.

personally, i feel that suicide is completely selfish, harms those who loved the person.

then again, i work in an "industry" where there is an incredibly high suicide rate for the targets, and that is a damn good thing.
