I'll be working in Norfolk starting the end of the summer near the waterfront. Are there any good places down in that direction where I could have my own garage and get a short term (3 month or so) lease, or should I just commute from Williamsburg? Things that are important to me: knowing my place won't be broken into, having a private garage, being able to work on the car without trouble from apartment management, and washer/dryer in unit. I don't know much about living in other parts of the Tidewater. I know in big Northern cities short term leases are just a way to get screwed. Is it pretty much the same here?
