they don't actually correct it...they put your car on rollers, looks similar to an inground dyno, and slowly increase the speed, measuring actual speed, and the speedometer at 10mph intervals.
then they print out a sheet comparing your actual speed to what your speedo says.

speedometer calibration center was sold
and is under new management
its now called beach calibration
