Yeah that sounds weird. I imagine they just weld the turbo flange where the stock manifolds bolted to the collector. The turbo Volvo dude on here did something similar. It's not such a bad idea, but you can gain a LOt with tubular manifolds vice the two log manifolds dumoing to the one.

you sound like t0oc0ol and welding turbo flanges. I bet it's an adaptor plate, if anything kinda like the honda hf manifold or something?
