I do feel for you import guys... I'll never forget riding in Merrill's (MerF) Supra years ago... going 45-50 on the blvd just cruising and cop comes in behind us. Merrill says they're gonna pull me. I ask, "For what?" To which he replies, "Driving an import." Sure enought lights go on and he gets an aftermarket exhaust and dark tint ticket.

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. When I get some more information of when they're going in to effect and what the expected dB readings will be, I'll post back here. They were currently trying to get one set up for testing and that's how I found out ...

pulled over a few weeks ago in my vette by a state trooper.
got a ticket for no front plate, tint, and illegal taillights.
He also made me rip my tint off my windows right there, or said he would tow my car.
Imports my ass.

Damn dude... it was the tails that got you... VA doesn't like blacked out tails etc. at all. Gary has been pulled a few times for his when he actually drives his car.
Oh... and I just went ahead and put a plate on the red car with a painted OEM surround. Planned on driving this one a bunch and don't want the issues.

trooper actually said it was the front plate more then anything. He saw my taillights last, i typically throw on my parking lights if i see a cop.

I wish we at least as decent looking plates like in Europe (and everywhere else). We have this dumb looking square we have to stick on the front, I hate it.
That said, I'm glad I drive a sleeper. I can make all the noise I want, nobody cares. People who don't know about cars just think it's an old Benz diesel.

I've had a number of cops turn around on me once they hear how loud my shit is, no front plate, etc... but oh no! Florida tags.
