Played hockey at chilled ponds today, had a good time. Was given opportunities to play on a couple teams, so it looks like I'll be playing in their league. Anyone else here play in their A division?

Re: What can I expect in Ghent?
went to cogans wednesday after skateboarding, while waiting for rush hour to pass
cool atmosphere, nice beer variety (though some a bit pricey, they still have pbr cheap for when I don't feel like spending money). I could see it being fun.
my buddy's girlfriend's friends are meeting up at The Pub today, so I'll be checking that out as well (and while it sounds cool, british themed bar, I'm not sure it's what I'm into but whatever I'll check it out).
Also, I believe chilled ponds has skate and shoot today from 11:30-1:20, so hopefully I'll be able to get down there for that

i live in ghent and am far from hipster. i moved here cause my clients like coming down here for lunch meetings and theres plenty of young people to meet and chill with. in my opinion its not nearly as hipster as it used to be and plus many peoples opinion of ghent is what they see on saturday afternoons when its gets real busy like in the spring and fall.

the fan and bottom are fun. lots of college action too. If you like a good Irish Pub I would def recommend McCormacks ( http://www.mccormacksirishpub.com/ ). Wonderland ( http://www.wonderlandrva.com/ ) is just around the corner from there and they have a wide variety of people. Its a fun place with lots to do. Empire is also a nice spot too (on the corner of Laurel and Broad). That is right on VCU campus. I love that area. Wish i could head up there this weekend. Have fun
