Default Wrinkle paint in Virginia Beach...

Looking for some black hi-temp wrinkle paint anywhere in Virginia Beach. I stopped by Pepboys earlier, and all they had was the Krylon stuff. Not sure if this stuff would be okay to use in a hi-temp area. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It'll work just fine on high-temp applications such as valve covers, but i haven't had positive results using that Krylon wrinkle paint like i have had with the VHT wrinkle finish spray cans.

What was the problem with the Krylon paint? Do the Krylon and VHT have about the same finish, like a matte/flat black?

I could never get that stuff to end up looking just like the OEM wrinkled finish you see on Honda valve covers. Some areas were raised more than others, if that makes any sense... Tried a couple different ways but never got the results I liked. The Krylon has somewhat of a satin finish to it.

Does the VHT have a glossy finish?

I never got the black wrinkle paint from VHT. Just red. You can always spray a different color over the wrinkle finish one it sets.

Wrinkle powdercoat works much better. That's what the OEM valve covers have.

Make sure you shake the can continuously as you spray. not to be applied like a normal can.

As Fab said, definately wrinkle powdercoat if you want the oem finish.

I went with the Krylon wrinkle, considering it was the only paint I could find. Honestly, I was blown away about how well it came out. Looks Identical to the Honda oem wrinkle.

And certainly cheaper than having something professionally powder coated.
