Damn im blind.. lol well i voted S4 because i've always liked modded S4's but i'd go with the GS simply because you just plan on doing bolt-ons and there aren't many modded GS's out there compared to S4's and the routine labor/parts cost is alot cheaper than audi.. and not to mention the reliability of a Toyota. Plus you'll be happy later on down the road with your decision to keep the GS and throw in a supra swap and crush any K04 S4 out there.
Edit.The GS has more capabilities and more roomy and as far as mods goes.. with the audi as chris stated just a turbo swap is an engine-out procedure.. later on down the road i think you'll get your money's worth out of the GS300.. and if im not mistaken they have better resale value than Audi.

Do some more research man, I'm no expert, but one of my best friends who has an s4 is an audi tech, so I would think if just a chip and exhaust made it a 12 sec car, he would be trapping more than 100mph. He wasn't even close to my c5 coupe which was trapping 112 at 12.4, unless we were on a mountain of course! He is always yapping about those damn k04 turbos and how when he gets them one day he will smoke me lolol

after owning 2 audi's, id say go for the S4. and JROW, those k04 really dont add much to the car. my 1.8t a4 has 150hp stock, with the k04, i get 180hp. im not spending $1500 to just get 30hp, when for about ~$3000, i could get a turbo elim. kit for it which would have a garrett gt2871r and get me about 275-300hp.

Don't get the S4..I've known a few people that have had those cars and they are retarded expensive. The transmisisons seem to take a dump regularly and as far as modding them...well I hope you have REAL deep pocket.
One person I know had one and it was pretty fast. He had a ton of money into it ...he parted it out for enough money to get a new c6 almost paid for.

gs are very nice. but with the S4 you have 2.7 bi-turbo and quattro. Look damn sexy, and maintence isn"t bad if you do it your self. On top of that, the stage kits aren't to bad in price, and upgrades are plentiful. Something great about 300-400 hp. and all wheel drive. Trannys can get alittle expensive, but can be had really cheap. But they can be real a pain to make fast.
