You can have a ls motor with pistons/rods, HG, and minor headwork for around the price of a stock gsr in most cases. Ive probably got about 15k on my built ls, and have never ever had a issue. People will chime in and say oh I know a gsr that was stock and boosted for 100k and had no issues, but in most circumstances, most people will have minor oil leaks and issues with vtec and boost, it is not the most reliable on boost.

Just my experience from 5-6 boosted set-ups.

Thats why shue tunes my cars, and driskill is the only one who touches them. It also helps to have it professionally maintained, they spot stuff wrong way before we do.

If you build and tune it properly, you can have a B20 revving to 9k, quite fun

There is usually no need to rev a non-vtec motor that high, thats just begging to blow your tranny asap.

I rev to 7,500, and its more than enough on the street. Sure I can rev it to 8,500-9k but i wont be making any more noticeable power. Why risk fucking something up?

This is why a lot of people I know with vtec setups have transmission issues, its because they are revving stock transmissions to 9k on the daily, shit is bound to happen. I love the fact that ive never had a transmission issue, il stick to low-revving ls motors ftw!
