It'd be interesting to see the results... I'd be more tempted to try it if one of you guys did it, as opposed to what that website says. People do strange things for a dollar, these days.

it wont hurt anything in the motor, if anything in an older car it will loosen some gunk in the fuel system and run a little odd until its burned off, depending on how much goes in it will mess with ignition so.....it would be better on a modified engine over a stock on. you can use everclear and start a car on just that no gas it will idle higher its way more octane, just like race gas thats all it is....higher alcohol contents, the gas with ethonal in it is even worse becasue its from a plant it.... contains low sugar content.....slowly killing your engine everytime you fill up.
I can see if you're talking about backyard everclear with horrible distillation quality, but the type/grade of ethanol that is mixed with pump gas is not harmful at all. The same holds true for bioethanol/E85 blends.
Acetone can swell or deteriorate seals on older cars; most newer cars will be impervious to the amount of acetone that would be mixed in the prescribed quantities.
I'm up in the air on the acetone debate, this would be one of the first and cheapest additives in modern fuel if it worked so well. There are already hundreds of ingredients in high grade fuel, this would be one of them if it's that dramatic. I don't believe anything I read about backyard fuel additives on the internet; the testing methods don't sound that scientific usually, and the cars that are tested are often not representative of most cars. All this shit deserves a big "Your results may vary" disclaimer, so you can't blame them when their miracle additive is absolute horse shit.

Anytime ethanol is brought up it get's my gear turning again...
I keep thinking about building a somewhat daily driver turbo honda. Built engine, stand alone EMS, and tune it to run on E85. It's readily available, relatively cheap, and very high octane for pump gas. Thoughts?
