is amsoil any better than mobil 1 synthetic? i was going to use amsoil but its .50c more expensive than mobile one. mobile 1 is exactly $5/qt including tax

i use castrol gtx...10w30 or 10w40 depends on my mood haha. I was getting the high mileage shit but i stopped doing that, car has 195k miles.

If you are planing on swaping a motor and you dont know anything about the motor Castrol GTX or any GOOD non-syntheic is a good choice 10w-30 is also the weight that would be preffred not to thin not to thick.

I run Mobil 1 Synthetic and a champ filter(made by purolater which also makes fram if I am not mistaken). There are like 3 major oil filter companies out there that make the same filters for several companies.

Valvoline max life has more conditioners and other good stuff that helps keeps the seals of the motor softer. As long as your car uses no oil, I would go ahead and keep running what your running, but if its using more than a quart of oil between changes I would bump the weight of the oil you use up a tad.

My car eats synthetic for dinner. mm, 134k miles. So I run mobil nonsynthetic and have no problems at all.
