I wonder what a "sports car" will be like in maybe 10 years? either too outrageous or too mellow..

Those mark ups exhisted on the Terminators and the Mach1s too, and it wasn't long till either car could be had for sticker or better. Give it a couple months for the hype to die off and for the supply and demand to catch up and the mark ups will disappear.

I don't care how much power they put into a mustang it'll never match at vette to me... that's why Ford makes the GT (handling)

Now a Camaro/Mustang rivalry would be sweet.

You do not have to have anything special to get a FGT or Z06, just money.

Oh and the car companies won't restrict... it's the Insurance companies and lobbiests who want everyone to drive a hybrid who could step in.

There is a natural limit to this hp war...its called traction.

*gasp* an awd version of a mustang/camaro being actually quicker than their rwd counterparts and more liveable as a DD.

Its all a cycle. It will die out just like it did in the 70's.

AWD would drive up the prices, plus everything would need to be redesigned and beefed up for the hp they are putting down stock, much less if they were modded.

It would be cool to see an American equivilant to the Skyline GT-R, but honestly, there would be mass protests from the majority of american car enthusiasts and media. They can't just up and change the RWD drivetrain on muscle cars, it would be marketing suicide even if it did perform better.

What the fuck. Why you guys trying to turn American icons into some dumb tuner shit? AWD? Skyline? That shit doesn't appeal to the masses or real Chevy/Ford enthusiasts, who are the ones buying the cars.

Look at the aftermarket already well established for basically both platforms. Its all the same parts with a little tweaking. Now your talking about switching driveline platforms around. Creating for more expense in both average price, which is already getting pretty high up there, and in aftermarket price.

Leave 'em like they both are and let 'em go at it. Nothing like a good old fashing HP war.

I'd just like to add this...

If AWD was superior, wouldn't top fuel be using it?
