D16 Vtec Turbo

Re: D16 Vtec Turbo
225whp and 203 ft-lb on a D16Y8 with the Greddy 15g kit. That was at 12psi and tuned to the ragged edge. I ran a conservative 10psi daily and never had any problems out of the engine. You'll quickly find out your weakest links are in your drivetrain.

Re: D16 Vtec Turbo
as long as you dont go over 10-12 psi on good fuel management/delivery...it shouldnt be a problem. I knew many people with junkyard setups that ran 200+hp untuned.

Re: D16 Vtec Turbo
i had a badass little setup for my car...spent about 550-600 bucks for it. that was with a sidemount intercooler and the budget SMC fuel controller. The HP numbers all lie within the tuning and management. if you can tune the car just right you can push it. there are people are turbod16 that are pushing mid 250hp on stock internals. If your looking for budget alternatives, get some LS rods Shotpeened and thrown in your motor...a little extra insurance.

You can get your hands on a Greddy kit for $1500. That doesn't include an intercooler though. If you haven't checked out this site already, then you need to. They can give you tons of info. I learned quite a lot from these guys. Especially how to do fuel management on a tight budget.
