The most expensive collision losses isn't the same thing as the most expensive to insure. You're telling me any of those cars is more expensive then insuring some exotic? I don't believe that for one second.

Now there's WAY more of those on the street so I can believe they had higher losses (more cars to crash = more money lost). That's probably how the Jaguars got on the list, what "ricer" is driving those? There's just a decent number of them out there (say compared to new Ferraris) and they're expensive.

FYI my 96 Civic w/ full coverage and $100 deductible was just as much as my 01 4x4 Durango w/ a $100 deductible. Shit's bananas.

Wow Jay, just saw your numbers. Been okay, be at VA the first week or two of September, working/rerenting a house and maybe buying another one. Hopefully my Z will be out of the shop putting down numbers close to yours .

Unfortunately theft also accounts for higher insurance rates. Japanese imports typically rank in the top 10 with most of their lines. My very first car, an 85 Corolla GT-S was stolen just after I got some Pirellis on them back in 1990. When they found it, it was stripped of everything.

I dont think the Ricers damaging there car have an affect on the prices. I think its how much parts cost. arts for my car are expensive thats how it made it to #6.

Hmm, the only strange part - I own both an Evolution 8 and an S2000. My S2 is far more expensive to insure than the Evo.

Full Coverage on Both :
S2000 = $1250.26 / 6 months = $208.38 / month
Evo = $643.88 / 6 months = $107.31 / month

Then again, year and mileage could have something to do with it. I would think a 00' with 78k miles would be less than a 03' with 26k.

2 Seaters are more expensive than sedans. Drop tops always tons more than hard top. (for speed though hard top is way to go-stronger structurally as well as lighter).

I understand that, just wondering why they listed Evo #1 while the S2 was #7 though.
  1. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
  2. Mercedes CL-Class
  3. Dodge SRT-4
  4. Subaru Impreza WRX
  5. Jaguar XK (convertible)
  6. Lexus IS 300
  7. Honda S2000
  8. Acura RSX
  9. Nissan 350Z
  10. Jaguar XJ

Not the same thing as insurance rates.
