painting rims
this may sound idiotic.....but i got some rims in a color i dont want
i was looking for suggestions on what type of paint to use to paint them black
if you know any certain stuff that worked good on your rims...your input would be appreciated!

im doing this for a friend. he got his paint at walmart. used wheel paint and many other friends rims and worked good. no chipping what so ever. just didnt rush it.

wet sand them, then clean them with carb cleaner, and then wet sand them again, and clean then again with carb cleaner again, then primer them at least 2 times, then let them dray at least 1 hour, then put about 2-3 coats of desired paint, then let them dry, and if you want to make them sorta shiny, add a coat or 2 of clear coat? that will protect them, and give them a lil shine to them...but this is what i did, and it worked for me...so

Most paints that are durable enough for your car are durable enough for the wheels, catalyzed paints are best. Chip resistance is a little iffy, but powdercoat isn't exactly super durable either.. I saw flat black epoxy spray paint once, I was always curious about it and never could remember where I saw it for sale. I'd really like to try it though..
