2135Ti is the shit. I have six of them, and they usually last about 2 years in my shop before the hammers break in the anvil and I gotta rebuild them. But that is continuous tire duty all day every day.
As for hose diameter, all my reels are 3/8" hose, and I have a pair of 1/2" feeds for the 1" impact guns for trucks, but rarely use them. The only use I have for 1/4" coil air hoses is at the parts washers and engine building benches, and that is only for blowing shit off.
If you do make a air line feed in your garage, make sure you put it in a loop, and also install dirt legs where you put the turnouts, it will catch your condensation.

I only have a 20x20 2 car garage so a 50' hose on a reel is all I need. I have a C-man water seperator/filter right after the regulator on the compressor. That should be sufficient water protection for a weekend hobbyist right?

yup. Sadly I dont even have a water separator on my lines at the shop lol. 600' of 1.5" air line in a loop with drops at the reels, and a drain valve in the drops has worked pretty well for a year now. Adding a dessicant spin on filter this week though.
