People are stupid and this is what happens. Nobody cares if the allegations are unfounded.... all that matters is that the seed has been planted.
Take the Audi "unintended acceleration" issue in the 80s... It's was 100% prooven that there was no defect in the cars and each case was operator error. Yet in summer 2008 when I was selling Jags, Porsches, and Audis I still had older people ask me about it as if it was a legitimate concern. So... the resolution is heard by nobody... the accusation is heard by all
