it is awd. I don't know how much it would loose. They say that my fwd is somewhere approaching 15%. don't the wrx's loose way over 20%?

edit: per scc, they had near 27% drivetrain loss. If that is accurate, I could see 29% from a vw.

dsms lose around 20% from factory flywheel rating
wrxs about 22% from factory flywheel rating
I'll go ahead and tell you percentages are not an accurate way of talking about drivetrain loss but I am not going to explain why because it's long and drawn out.
What I mean by this is. Even though a 2g dsm makes 165-170 wheel hp stock and the flywheel rating is 210 (~20% loss) does not mean a modified dsm putting down 400hp is making 500 at the flywheel.
Anyhow...the point is he is just pulling the flywheel hp rating out of his ass for that car.

probably right. There are more things to take into consideration. either way. That is a fast golf.

However i do think that all HPA stuff is overrated and over priced. This kit is 20-25k over the price of the car. FUCK THAT
Earlier this year, Brian Kirschberger's Jetta made the jump from the T72 to the GT40-R which netted ET's that were deeper into the 10's. With some additional tuning and a couple psi of boost later, Brian, Bill Schimmel, and the GTR crew has turned multiple 9 second timeslips with the best of 9.75 @ 144MPH.

MegaH_MaN has a little shameless behaviour in the past

29% drivetrain loss does sound like a lot but beleivable b/c of all wheel drive. WRX's are 227 at the crank and msot dyno to 170 to the wheels. But just remember thats 170 horses to all 4 wheels, thats why the loss is so signifigant.
