It used to be so awesome when they closed down the streets of downtown Miami every year to have this epically badass race.

Currently it has been replaced by the NASCAR homestead race on a roundy round track....what the fuck happened to badass motorsports in the USA?

You're not the only one. There never has been and never will be a more mental motorsport. Some of those cars accelerated faster on dirt/gravel than the fastest supercars today.

This is around the time when I really got in to motorsports. Back when you would see cars from like every manufacturer you could see more than just NASCAR on TV.

I remember watching all these on ABC's wide world of Sports after the Saturday cartoons.
