I wasnt going to post here because there already seemed to be plenty of people offering up solutions...but...

Does the squeeking change with RPMs? Does it ever go away? Does it squeek about once every belt revolution?

Just by your simple description I'd lean towards it being the Ford tensioner before something you installed. Usually idlers wont squeek unless they are 90% seized and by then they'll glaze the belt.

PM me if you cant figure this out.

Kevin also made a good point. Try the tensioner, if not, try the idlers or the pulley as a bad bearing could be the culprit.

I have had an idler pulley seize up on me before and it shaved the belt pretty good.

Squeakes w/ RPM. Never goes away. Once every belt revolution, around that, maybe a little more.

P.S. Thanks Phil (Nice new Advatar you got there )

Brand new belt? Or old belt being reused? Either way, still sounds like the stock tensioner. I've replaced a ton on 2v cars, not so many on 4v's though. Sounds like a chirp about 2 times each second at idle.
