It seems you don't quite grasp the concept of breaking in a clutch ...

Oh well, here's to hoping it doesn't fall apart on you in a few hundred miles.

99slowlst -

That deffinitely sounds like a tire problem. I used to have all sorts of trouble keeping traction as boost built up as well. I would spin into 2nd, gain traction by metering the throttle, then floor it and around 5k it would break loose again. Then i got new Kumho cheapo tires and it stopped doing that entirely.

Now my Kumhos are so worn though its back to breaking loose when power mounts...eesh. And i refuse to spend money on this car....anyone want it?..$2k, officially for sale..

it's a ford we're talkin about here... not an import. following directions is just a precautionary term lol. SPEC makes 5 stages of a clutch, 4 and 5 are race purpose ONLY. 3 is a lil agressive for the street, but pretty good for my torque-lacking application. if it breaks i'll jus get another, but the construction on this beotch is phenomenal so i doubt it's goin anywhere anytime soon. (carbon and copper disk surface, if i wear through this in the first few months, i've accomplished something.)

im debating on whether or not i need to tow the 4pak to the track friday night or not. the 'old man' said that my tranny ain't gonna break, and it'll take a miracle for me to snap an axle or a spider gear. his bet is that i'll lose a u-joint. im now thinking that i need to get a d/s loop for the damn 4pak. and that's scarry.... this is my beater and im already twisting the chassis (as provin by the crack along the exterior a-pillar). when i chain the motor down, hold it to 5,500 on the 2step and jus dump-it...... OOOOOO BOY, I can't wait!!!
