I went with Davis Machine Shop - $75 to turn over a couple pistons, adjust some rod bearings and a wrist pin. Not bad compared to the $350 I was quoted at Ballos. I'll let you guys know how this thing runs once it's in.

davis machine did alot of work for me on previous engines. good guy... but slow turnaround time. it's a father/son team and they apparently do alot of work for repair shops in that area.
rebco machine did the machining on my block and my cylinder head when i needed it welded. good people. quick service. top quality work

my shop has done alot of business with rebco in the past, only thing i have bad to say about him is you have to be EXTREMELY specific on what you want/expect from rick... i have had heads come back without valve seals and valves before... he rectified the situation the same day though
