short pump is GREAT for chains like chilis, applebees, and other crap like that

but i prefer the local stuff in the fan and to some extent carytown

plus in the city you never have to drink and drive.

atleast here i dont have to worry bout my car getting stolen every nite..alot of my friends live in the fan so i go out there on the weekends but can never have fun when i drive cuz im so sketched bout my car being fucked with.

true to a point, and I'm not a big fan chains either, but there are also some VERY good restraunts out here as well (just not as many) and you have to know where to look
sorta true, if you're talking about fine arts stuff and theater but I'm not so sure that's what you were talking about any other forms of entertainment can also be found out in the westend/short pump

that's debatable for the whole Richmond metro area in general

I'm not saying I don't like to go downtown or to the fan but I don't wanna live there.

I like having a yard around my house, and a driveway, and good schools for my kid to go to. I like that it's quiet at night and I don't have drunk 20something year olds stumbling down my street at 2 in the morning.

Of course I don't wanna live anywhere near Shortpump either, it's largest collection of non-drivers I have ever seen anywhere.

if you dont go looking for trouble, trouble really doesnt tend to find you.
just dont go walking trhough gilpin or mosby in the middle of the night and you all should be fine
anything remotly downtown(fan/museum district/carytown/carver/parts of jackson ward) have all pretty much been cleaned up and really are worry free if you are smart

ha,if you knew me then you would know that im one of the most laid back people around.i like the fan,dont get me wrong,ive worked in the fan for 10 yrs and many of my friends live here,but within the last 6 months 4 of my friends have been robbed at gunpoint in places that were thought to be safe,2 were on there front porch at there own houses.and with all the cars being stolen lately yeah im gonna keep an eye on my shit,and its hard to do so when im hoppin bar to bar gettin tanked.my point is i dont have to worry bout this shit when im at bar louies or somewere in short pump,the thought never crosses my mind so i can concentrate on more important things like drinking and demolishing vaginas

Ha, tell that to 3 of my friends. One had a brick thrown through the back window of his 300ZX and had the subs stolen out of the back of it. The other had a Wrangler with a soft top and had the one of the windows on it sliced open. He got a new top, and within a month of putting it on he had it happen again. The 3rd guy has had his STi scraped twice by people trying to parallel park, now he has to get the whole bumper repainted. All of them had their cars just parked out on the street, either in front of their apartment or a friends. Not in bad parts of downtown or anything.
