make sure the kickstand is all the way up!!

it's got a safety switch that kills the bike if you put it in gear and the kickstand isn't all the way up. it's to keep you from driving away with it down.

okay, i just got back from a test ride (a couple miles in the neighborhood) the loud popping noise is gone, but it kinda makes a weird droaning sound...like, as if a brake pad is applying and kinda rubbing against the rotor...something's making a rubbing sound...damn i wish i knew more about bikes lol, but w/ the new chain its a TON smoother, and much quicker to respond than before...i wonder what that other sound is, but @ least it's not scary to ride anymore

dunno on that one, i'd have to hear it myself. i went thru the front and rear brakes before i ever even rode it, so i doubt the brakes are dragging, but it's possible i guess.

what?!?!

i set the chain a lil on the tight side since it was brand new and that's when you're gonna get the most chain stretch. try loosening it just a tad and see if the noise changes.

nah it's not coming from the chain, it sounds like its closer to the gearbox, it makes the most noise when im slowing down, i'll take it to u whenever you've got some free time to take it for a spin

works for me. noises are very hard to diagnose without hearing it firsthand.

i honestly don't see how someone (the inspector) could have done any damage to the bike with what you said he did, but, i wasn't there, so i didn't see it to know exactly what happened.

in any case, i'll see what there is to see, and hear, when you bring it by.

Why did you need to get it inspected?
