thanks.

this bike is all mig'ed, so I do my own welding. I'm not too good at Tig yet, lol. For customer stuff, we have a guy that welds nuclear stuff by day come in and Tig everything once I get it all tacked up with the Mig.

Haven't decided what I'm gonna do with the seat yet. I may make a pan that follows the new contour of the frame in that area, and shape some foam for it, and upholster it. My girl is going to be the one mainly riding this bike, so I'll try and make it comfy for her.

I'm thinking I may under-brace the swingarm too, and try to fill in the big open area under it a bit. Not that it needs it, it'd be just for cosmetic reasons.

progress pics. Probably the last I'll have for a lil while. Have to go back to "real work" tomorrow, lol.

gonna shorten the forks, just from looking at these pics, it looks better on the lift, strapped down, than it does outside. Scored a set of spoked wheels today too, so the mag's are going bye-bye.

Still not sure what I'm going to to about the exhaust, just stuck the stock stuff on (one side anyway) to see what it looked like.

update: (been a lil bit)

finally got a tank for this one. Someone at some point filled in half the front of the tunnel. I plan on cutting that out to get the front a little lower. Should get the bottom of the tank lower and level with the top of the cylinder head. couldn't resist clamping it on and snapping some pics as-is though.

I really want to see it with a set of 12" or so apes running 100% vertical, but the 'ol lady doesn't seem to keen on the idea (it's for her to ride). we'll see who wins that, lol.

Also picked up a set of 21"/16" spoked rims that I want to use, but I didn't have time to make that happen today. I like the mags and all, but I think the spokes would look so much better.

that tank is gonna need some work, it's got alot of epoxy sealing holes, and it's covered in vinyl (that's not paint), but it's workable.

20psi 240sx is an unknown quantity at this point

is the cap centered on that tank? the real deal wassels had the cap ofset to the right so when on the side stand you could fill it all the way. wassels are hard to find lately in good shape, may be why that one was given bandaid treatment.

are you going to run a top motor mount? I have sen one other 650 without the top mount but didn't hear if it caused any porblems. i would think vibration would be about 5 times worse then it already is on a xs650 with no top mount. (for those of you that haven't riden an xs, not many bikes vibrate and make your shit tingle as much as these roller bearing 360 degree killed-the-english-bike-industry yamahas do).
I think i would like to work with you skrooze. good taste and lots of talent! wanna open a bike shop and go poor together?
